JORN: (2007) Unlocking The Past

Jorn Lande's latest release is a cover album. Some are newly recorded, others remixed from previous albums, and a couple are previously unreleased. Jorn's voice has often been compared to David Coverdale's, so it's only appropriate he does a version of Whitesnake's "Fool For Your Loving." Most of the other songs were originally done in the '70s, and include Jorn's take on Thin Lizzy's "Cold Sweat," Bad Company's "Feel Like Making Love" and Kiss' "Naked City." He also covers two Deep Purple songs: "Burn" and "Perfect Strangers."
Jorn has an excellent voice, and for the most part adds his own twist and flavor to the originals. There's a nice mix of well known and more obscure classic rock songs. It's by no means essential or groundbreaking, but Unlocking The Past is a fun and enjoyable CD. --- from Chad Bowar,
