V.A. - Spacewalk - A Salute to Ace Frehley
The best of today's crop of metal guitarists got together for a tribute to perhaps one of rock's most influential figures in Ace Frehley. The best songs on the album include "Deuce" by Megadeth's Marty Friedman, "Shock Me" by Gilby Clarke, "Parasite" by Tracii Gunns, and a very "Beck-ish" (of Odelay, not Jeff) rendition of "New York Groove" by Bruce Bouillet. In fact, all the songs were quite good with the exception of John Norum's "Cold Gin" which had too much lead guitar work. It seemed like he was trying too hard to show off in a song that is simple to the core. Overall, it is a must have for anyone influenced by the style and personna of Ace Frehley.Track Listing1.
